• The new Pokemon Home app has restrictions, can only transfer Pokemon from new Galar region

6 days ago - By Destructoid

Today during the Nintendo Treehouse post-Direct event, Game Freak gave us some bad news: the new Pokemon Home app will have limits.
According to Game Freak, "players will be able to transfer their Pokemon from Pokemon Home, only if they are in the Galar region Pokedex." They go on explain "so we thought about what the best selection of Pokemon to match the adventure to be." "More details" are coming later on this development, and they wanted to "let people know in advance" of this change.
And that's it. Whelp, Home won't be the be-all-end-all of transfer apps.

Pokemon Sword and Shield shows off second gym leader, Pokeball Plus features

6 days ago - By Destructoid

Nintendo didn't give us an in-depth look at Pokemon Sword and Shield during today's Direct, but we did learn a few new details. The second gym leader of the Gala region, Nessa, will be a water type master that has a design seemingly inspired by Sun and Moon .
As well as short in-game footage, we learned that the Pokeball Plus accessory will have some use beyond Let's Go and Go. While you won't be able to use it as a controller, you can transfer your critters to it and take them with you on the go. This is likely an extension of the pedometer features that have been in past Pokemon entries.

  • Old timey gangster game Empire of Sin announced for Switch

6 days ago - By Destructoid

In a stylish trailer during today's Nintendo Direct, we rewound through a tommy gun massacre, unbreaking a perfectly good bottle of whiskey and unmessing up some poker chips.
Little else was shown, but it looked like players control a party of characters, and the camera angle implied a sort of tactical view. According to Paradox Interactive, it'll be a "character-driven strategy game."

You Can Walk Your Pokémon From Sword And Shield Using The Poké Ball Plus Controller

6 days ago - By Game Informer

We learned a lot about Pokémon Sword and Shield last week, so expectations were low when it came to new information surrounding the two entries during today's E3 Nintendo Direct. However, The Pokémon Company did drop a couple of details for one of the Switch's most anticipated releases of 2019.
The Poké Ball Plus controller, which launched alongside last year's Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Eevee, has some minor functionality with Sword and Shield.
